The "AutomotivePERFORMANCE" industry comparison has been determining the performance of the 19 global automotive manufacturers since 2005. The result of the analysis of regional and global market data, the innovative strength as well as the financial key figures of the OEMs leads to the CAM AutomotivePERFORMANCE Index (API). This index maps the current performance strength of the global automotive manufacturers in a relational metric based on various performance indicators.

For the seventeenth year in a row, the AutomotivePERFORMANCE industry comparison determines the performance of the 25 global automotive manufacturers. The study is supplemented by the financial performance of key digital players entering the mobility industry as new competitors.

OEM Group | Global performance 2011-2020

Global #performance of the OEM groups in comparison: The small animation shows the sales and growth development of the automotive manufacturers in the period from 2011 to 2020.

Toyota achieves the best performance in a comparison of automotive groups in the Corona year 2020 with the highest global sales and profits. Among the newcomers, Tesla achieves the second-highest EBIT margin thanks to high sales gains and the sale of CO2 certificates. Thanks to significant cost savings and strong growth in China, the German manufacturers achieved an above-average performance in a comparison of manufacturers. Daimler shows a clear recovery after a weak 2019.
